Notary Public Services

All lawyers in Alberta are also Notaries Public, and can notarize your document.

“Notary Public Services” includes notarizing or commissioning documents, including creating certified true copies (which transforms “just a copy” into something “as good as an original”).

Services also include administering oaths / affirmations / declarations, whether it be for an affidavit or a statutory declaration.

Notaries Public also witness the execution of documents, such as travel consent letters, statutory declarations, powers of attorney, dower consents.

As lawyers, we can also witness the execution of personal guarantees, providing the certificate of independent legal advice required by lenders in Alberta under the Guarantees Acknowledgment Act.
